Why Reeds?
With a factory in North Devon Reeds manufacture among other things waterproof
garments for water sports using their own patented material Aquatherm®.
Aquatherm®
Aquatherm® is a thin stretchy material that is highly durable, flexible and light. The
outer surface of Aquatherm sheds water quickly and is therefore quick drying
keeping the wearer warm.
Aquatherm® fabric has been developed to enable the wearer to remain warm and dry during
sport or leisure activities through the full range of weather conditions.
Reeds fabricate many kayak specific accessories such as spraydecks, Topdecks and Tuiliqs
all taking advantage of the stretchy qualities of Aquatherm®.
Aquatherm Fleece®
For colder conditions Aquatherm fabric can be bonded to give a fleece lined garment with all
the same benefits mentioned above with added warmth.
Transpire Fleece Base Layers
Reed Transpire fleece garments are hugely popular with kayakers. Designed to be worn as
a base layer next to the skin outperforms all others in moderate to extreme climates.
Specifically designed to move moisture away from the wearer transpire fleece is ultra warm,
comfortable & high wicking.
There are also Transpire double thickness fleece garments adding additional warmth for
extending your paddling season.
Our Reeds Stock
Several Reeds garments are tailored to the wearer and are therefore difficult to
stock. We do however have some “tailored specific items” such as Tuiliqs,
Topdecks and Dry trousers that can be tried and inspected prior to us ordering for
you from Reeds with your exact measurements.
Many other Reeds products are more generic with typical size ranges and we have
tried to stock most of these items. If you have seen a product on the Reeds
website and it is not present on our stock pages, please get in touch and we can
order this for you.
